Beyond the Purchase

Beyond the PurchaseOnce a scooter has been selected, there are other factors to be considered.   First, be certain that a warranty is offered and know what the terms of the warranty are.

If the scooter is purchased from a local dealer, determine whether the store has trained service technicians capable of performing routine maintenance and repairs.

Be certain that parts such as batteries, tires, chains and belts, and electronics are stocked on the premises and do not have to be ordered from the manufacturer, causing delays in getting the scooter back on the road.

If the scooter is purchased directly from a manufacturer, learn whether repairs can be made locally and by whom.

Wherever maintenance is performed or repairs are made, the work should be done by someone authorized to do it under the terms of the warranty.
